By Car:
The lake is easily accessible by car and has sufficient parking, with three parking areas available at different prices (€7–€30). Please note that during the summer months there are restrictions on entering the valley. From July to mid-September, a reservation is required between 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM. Parking can fill up quickly during peak season, so arriving early in the morning is highly recommended.
By Public Transport:
There are seasonal buses from nearby towns such as Braies, Dobbiaco (Toblach), and San Candido (Innichen)that stop near the lake. Check schedules in advance, as frequency may be limited in peak season.
By Car:
Winter access can be challenging due to snowy and icy roads. A vehicle with winter tires and/or chains is mandatory. Some roads may be closed temporarily during heavy snowfall.
Parking:
Parking is usually less crowded, but some areas may be closed or have limited access due to snow.
By Public Transport:
Buses and shuttles may still run from nearby towns, but service is reduced. Always check local winter schedules before planning your trip.
Winter Hiking:
If you plan to walk around the lake, be prepared for snow and icy paths. Proper footwear and winter clothing are essential.
