CAN WE BOOK THE BOATHOUSE FOR A WEDDING CEREMONY OR JUST PHOTOS?

Yes — the Private Shooting – Sunrise option allows you to use the Boathouse for both a symbolic wedding ceremony and photos. It’s the only way to have private access to the Boathouse dock area at Lake Braies / Lago di Braies / Pragser Wildsee for weddings or elopements in 2026.

If you do not book it, the Boathouse remains open to the public and privacy cannot be guaranteed.

WHAT IF I AM NOT ABLE TO BOOK THE DESIRED DATE AT THE BOATHOUSE?

Be online before 10:00 AM CET on February 2nd, 2026 — slots sell out fast! In order to maximize the chances, we recommend having multiple date options ready (previously agreed with the vendors that will be with you on the day).

CAN WE RENT THE BOATHOUSE AT MIDDAY OR SUNSET?

Currently, no.

Private access is only available before official opening hours of the boathouse (meaning sunrise). During the day, the dock area is open to the public, and weddings/photos can not take place.

WHAT IF WE NEED TO CANCEL OR CHANGE THE DATE?

The payment is fully non-refundable and date changes are not possible due to high demand. That is why having a solid elopement plan and backup option is essential (We can help you with that part! ;) )

CAN WE GET LEGALLY MARRIED AT LAKE BRAIES?

Lake Braies is best for symbolic ceremonies. Legal paperwork is arranged separately and can only happen in a local townhall either before or after the lake ceremony. The couples choose Lake Braies for the emotional and scenic moment and handle paperwork elsewhere.

CAN WE INVITE GUESTS?

Yes — small groups are welcome. We recommend 2–15 people so everyone sttays comfortable and the environment remains intimate. Remember, the boathouse private area is limited in space.

CAN WE STILL TAKE PHOTOS AT THE BOATHOUSE WITHOUT BOOKING IT?

Yes — but the dock is open to the public and will be crowded. There is no privacy for vows or emotional moments, that is why the private shooting booking is worth it.

DO WE NEED A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER?

A photographer is NOT included in the private shooting package, you may bring your own wedding photographer, or we can help you book one who knows the lake layouts, light and restrictions perfectly!.

ARE DRONES ALLOWED AT LAKE BRAIES?

Theoretically, NO.

Lake Braies is a protected area and drone flights are prohibited. Howeber, in reality, you will likely still see people flying drones - even though it is not allowed. Anyone choosing to do so risks fines or confiscation.

WHAT DOES THE PRIVATE SHOOTING INCLUDE?

The private shooting package gives exclusive access to the boathouse and its dock for 1,5 hours. During this time you can also enjoy a private boat ride on the lake.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO ELOPE AT LAKE BRAIES?

In our experience, the best time to elope at Lake Braies is from its seasonal opening until late May, and again in October. During these periods, there are fewer tourists, making it much easier to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and the surrounding nature.
